How to set *all* of desktop settings with GPO

using server 2012 standard win 7 32-bit domain members. client has custom designed logo centers on screen desired, , can set gpo, no problems. however, can't find anywhere in gpo can specify desktop background color. such setting exist? if so, sure beats going around individual computers set custom background color matches , blends logo.

hi carl1959,

we can use combination of custom theme , group policy preferences change desktopbackground color.
create starter theme on desktop settings want use , save it.  copy c:\users\yourusername\appdata\local\microsoft\windows\themes network share similar \\server\theme_share\aerostarter.theme. assign group policy user: user -> policies -> administrative templates -> control panel -> personalization -> load specific theme and specify file location similar this: \\server\theme_share\aerostarter.theme

assign group policy preference user: user -> preferences -> windows settings -> registry -> action: replace hive: hkey_current_user key path: control panel\colors value: background value type:reg_sz value data:128 64 64 (this example of red background)

assign group policy preference user: user -> preferences -> windows settings -> registry -> action: delete hive: hkey_current_user key path: control panel\desktop value: wallpaper.

regards,

lany zhang
