i'm trying configure our rras vpn server hand out options dhcp server, in particular option 249 classless static routes.  don't want force clients use vpn gateway traffic, need vpn clients use vpn connection other internal subnets.  i've tried setting 249 "default rras class" in dhcp options standard dhcp class , routes still don't make clients (both xp , vista).  ideas? apparently subnet mask needs classful. doing makes vista , xp pick routes once connected. i have user has nested directories , i'm having problems getting permissions inherit properly. it's in home directory has has share permission set 'full control' user. then actual directory, root of home, has special permissions on it. not 'full control', , no permissions allow them take ownership or edit permissions. else open. hi all, have bit of strange scenario. got 3 node 2008r2 cluster , managed vmm 2012. customer has 2/3 nodes dual port nic. would configure nic part of couple of ha networks between 2 nodes only. vmm rightly mind , doesn't show 2 standard switches create highly availble @ cluster level (only 2/3 servers have nics genius!). wonder if there anyway round this? or best bite bullet , add dual port nic in there, suspect appear @ cluster level @ stage! odd scenario, don't know if partial ha within cluster possible. thanks in advance sorry pest if can bump this. really interested if has implemented scenario. can make network partially available nodes in cluster , still considered ha? thanks Windows Server  >  Hyper-V

hi, in earlier versions of ms word, possible display macro name, without icon, in toolbar.  in 2010 version, not can name not displayed, doesn't allow option not display image.  has encountered , found work-around?  thanks. ellie hi stefan, thanks reply.  however, eliminate icon , input name of command in previous versions of word, not modify icon.  those icons useless of them have no correlation macro that's being used.  somehow, don't think feature available in 2010 version. i have fresh windows 8 install hyper-v. can't add new guest vm. got - operation failed. failed create external configuration store @ 'd:\virtual pc\w7-32': general access denied error. (0x80070005). user have local admin rights. pc have 2 local drives. hi all, i in process of moving folders windows 2003 server (dc) windows 2008 r2 standard (member server) , sharing them 2k8 server. sharing part server behavior have not seen before , seeking further clarification on these issues. have folder called data in d:\ contain folders. each of these folders shared out users based on groups. listed below 2 issues seeking clarification on... 1. of folders have different permissions, not inheriting permissions parent folder (data). when case, shared button "grayed out". found on forum posting share button clickable "inheritance" has turned on. tired works, don't understand why case. if can explain me, appreciate it. 2. old shares on dc "domain\administrators" group listed on folder share permissions. since new server member server obvious choice use "servername\administrators" (local admins) group. accidentally i found think bug , here how can replicated. since folders "non inherited&qu

hi, i've had , can't find on topic. if have missed please feel free send me link , apoligise wasting time. i'm setting workplace server, opted server 2012. i'm trying other office computers join domain in order user login straight start screen instead of remote desktop connection. i have set server domain controller (i hope) , have given static ip address (again hope). i'm unable connected computer domain, both windows 7 & windows 8.1 pro. when put in domain name i'm prompted username , password (leads me believe can see domain name). enter administrator username , password. load , i'll ping saying " ... not exist or cannot contacted "(windows 8) " an attempt resolve dns name of domain controller in domain being joined has failed.... " (windows 7) i'm able connect user accounts created via remote desktop connection okay, not idea our database system. any appreciated. if need me send on config setting please
