i sure topic has had it's horse beaten hundreds, if not thousands of people , have read topics , done of have asked. here problem. when navigate reverse lookup section , edit name service record holds ip coming on nslookup message reads "the server ip address not authorative required zone." the results of nslookup of of parent server holds forest. server nslookup being performed on child domain of server. 192.168.1.30 comes unknown. i have done simple ptr record still won't produce name if lookup. any suggestions? guys have been wonderful far. check network trace give you  why dns response failed , failed. @ same time check dns forwarder ip-address both parent server & child server. check tcp-ip settings  for dc's Windows Server  >  Directory Services

i'm domain admin of large , complex active directory domain.  have dozens of domain controllers, running windows server 2008 r2.  have several other 2003 r2 , 2008 r2 servers ad management , reporting tasks, including couple configured gpmc.  when run gpmc, can see , use group policy modeling wizard without problems. for few selected ous, have begun delegate gpo management tasks other users/groups.  these users/groups not members of domain admins global group.  need read, create, modify, link, , delete gpos in delegated ous.  have set ws 2008 r2 server aduc , gpmc them use gpo management tasks.  these users/groups members of administrators local group on server, , can use gpmc. however, pointed out me "group policy modeling" section of gpmc not displayed @ all: not appear, , missing altogether.  if logon same server , launch gpmc, "group policy modeling" section appears, , can use wizard. so apparently, missed when set delegation , permissions these

have client messed home drive permissions. root folder had domain users - read / write ntfs permissions, when ever users home folder created, inherited permission. so, on domain has access everyone's home drives. have run in issue in past, , found script while (see below) works wonders. goes through , grants full access permissions each user, on own folder. problem is, not remove domain users group, has full access. there can add take care of this?  other way have done before set ntfs permissions on root folder containing home drive folders domain admins have full access, no other permissions set. sharing everyone, should be. then, check box replace child items, each home drive folder has same permissions root - domain admins only, run script , adds each user proper permissions folder. problem method takes forever, there close tb of data in folder , take incredibly long time. also, users in company access data throughout week, including weekends, moment of time
