Locally attached storage

for server locally attached storage (motherboard/pci/pcie sata/sas/raid controllers, no san), there advantage booting child guest partition on local disk or raid set rather vhd on ntfs volume?

if booting vhd on ntfs volume, must ntfs volume mounted on root system?

can non-bootable ntfs partition mounted multiple windows guest operating systems?

1: no, unless may 1 day have move vm or make high availability cluster.

2: sure. how else can access file?

3: no. partition can mounted on 1 system. ntfs not multi-host-aware.
