need clarification on .net framework support winser2008. 1 of major apps developed under vista , released stopped working in winser2008 after 2 months. 1 small essential part broken , sapi. heavily rely on voice support tell me going on , gone. when begin app error message pointing line call sapi text speech method , offers me either debug or close app. if ignore app works ok except voice. in debug com error still have find out means. errorcode=- 2147200966 . not in errlook.exe or vs2008 tools==>errorlook. it kind of windy, bear me. trying o resolve issue other potential issues feel may coming installed vs2008 on server tried avoid long time , hook dev project app. found many assemblies apparently missing. tried download , install .net 3.5 , got error no explanation was. no number @ all. i installed .net 1.1 , tried install 2.0 resulting error (don't recall though), tried sp1 2.0 , got error not supported vista (sic!). run server! i went control panel=>programs , saw follow

i wonder if there way somehow automate activation , deactivation of local user accounts on windows servers? background we're running 150+ windows 2003 servers developers , users need possibility log on server via remoted desktop perform various tasks. have local user accounts (mostly local administrator access) , unlimited access servers can result in should not , applications (for example) on server stop working should. have started deactivate local accounts allow access server upon request user wants local user account activated he/she can perform tasks , after disable account again. inform in advance , question comes up. wonder if there way, either using application or using scripts, activate or disable local user accounts on server/servers? let's have information want account active next tuesday between 8 , 3 pm , input application or run script takes care of this? it's ok manually when few accounts affected when number increases impossible manually. know perhap

we have migrated complete new domain. last step break trust relationship. deleted two-way-trusts on both end, , let rest couple of days let sync. went fine... on 2 of 3 domain controllers. on 1 domain controller event log id 83 health service script every 5 minutes error: ad monitor trusts : trusts between domain (newdomainname.local) , following domain(s) in error state: adm.olddomainname.nl (inbound), error is: the specified domain either not exist or not contacted. (0x54b) very correct, old domain gone. everywhere in ad ui: sites , services, domains , trusts, etc, old domain present. way can see old trust on specific dc command nltest. (nltest /domain_trusts /all_trusts). says: 0: nt_olddomainname adm.olddomainname.nl (nt 5) (direct outbound) ( attr: quarantined 0x40 ) and when try remove netdom (netdom trust newdomainname.local /d:adm.olddomainname.nl /oneside:trusted /remove /force) says: the command completed succesfully . also in dns we've cleared entries

i have dell poweredge 2850 server running windows 2003 standard server sp 2 & running microsoft virtual server 2005 r2. i'm attempting create win 2008 virtual server using virtual server 2005 application. i have a bootable iso (win 2008 server) dvd in cd-rom drive of server. i'm able boot guest operating system iso disc start loading operating system, keep getting error on boot up. "attempting load 64-bit application, cpu not compatible 64-bit mode" as far know server has 64 bit processors, has seen issue before? any great!! thanks, parick               vpc , virtual server cannot run 64-bit guest os, regardless of underlying hardware. need run 32-bit version of server 2008 under virtual server. hello, we attempting move our remote infrastructure on active directory in order make easier manage our network.  in order that, have shift our dns servers linux on windows (we going server 2008 r2).  can imagine, require thorough performance testing, we’ve done.  decided move 1 location on test bed in order let run while.  after couple of months received complaint from (hosted customer) that dns queries failing hostnames 1 of our measurement locations happened 1 switched windows dns.  hostnames (servera.customer.com, serverb.customer.com, serverc.customer.com).  windows dns server returning “server failed” error message.  decided @ point switch dns @ location linux time being since linux box had no such problem.   after investigation, found couple of things: -by disabling flag on windows dns server, hostnames above able resolve successfully.  flag edns set 0 (disabled) following instructions in article:  http://support.microsoft.com/kb/832223   after change, nsloo

i'm running windows server 2008 r2 sp1 virtual machine on host running windows server 2008 r2 sp1 using hyper-v. i've set nat on host machine forward tcp requests port 5000 on host machine port 21 of vm's private ip. setup works fine , i'm able access ftp service on vm (active mode). when restart virtual machine, other portforwarding rules work, except ftp 5000-21 rule. each time need disable routing , remote access on host machine , setup nat rules again , works again, until restart vm. what should prevent happening? edit: on host machine, i'm able telnet port 21 of virtual machine. it's not firewall issue vm guess? cannot telnet port 5000 of host machine.  Windows Server  >  Hyper-V

this past monday had entire department couldn't log in.  looking @ event log see hundreds of event id 13 messages: a radius message received invalid radius client ip address x.x.x.x (i removed ip security reasons) the ip of valid switch.  prior event 13, event 10: the name, <switchname>, of radius client, <switchname>, not resolved. data error code generated windows sockets. -gunnar so looks me name resolution failed in morning , in turn why event 13 occured becuase nps didn't know ips were.  have since changed radius clients ip instead of name, i'd know caused this.  dns servers did not fail on monday. hi, gunnarwb about event 13, can refer http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd316135(ws.10).aspx . there article has information different reasons , solutions. regards qunshu sorry. posting personal suggestion, microsoft won't take responsibilities posting. more happy try best you.

hello, i have server has been allocated lun storage array through san. size of lun 1.7tb , server sees disk of size.  there single partition have created on disk , size disk space available. can access through drive letter. now storage array has option change lun size , using reduced lun size 1.7 tb 1.5tb. however, @ server end, after rescanning the disks still see this corresponding disk of size 1.7tb primary partition. may reason behind this? i tried see what happens if increase lun size , saw @ server end, disk size change , space available shown unpartitioned volume along primary partition. can make partition on new volume or extent volume of primary partition , hence keep single partition on disk. but things not clear when reduce lun size..... what think? hi all a tricky one: delta crl supports unrevoked certificates? i'm doing next steps: 1) issue client authentication certificate 2) if try use certificate in iis (mapping client certificate) certificate works 3) revoke certificate "certificate on hold" reason 4) publish delta crl. checked certificate appears revoked "certificate on hold" reason 5) if try use certificate in iis (mapping client certificate) certificate doesn't work: iis query delta crl , gives me "certificate revoked" error 6) unrevoke certificate 7) publish delta crl. checked certificate appears revoked "remove crl (8)" reason 8) if try use certificate in iis (mapping client certificate) certificate doesn't work: iis query delta crl , gives me "certificate revoked" error   i assume because certificate appears in delta crl, regardless "unrevoked" status, certificate revoked iis server. please, can confirm me normal behaviour? ca

i can't ping window server few minute server got ip in same subnet can ping server. no network problem. my pc got ip in other subnet. can ping server. sometime few minute. can't ping. service of window server can block traffic ip in other subnet. hi  please check firewall , see allow ping services . allow remote desktop services , ping through firewall on windows server 2008 r2 or windows 7 and if continue , please ping switch -t , when got request timeout , see event log error or warning. i love god,because me find technet.
