Windows 7 not saving Profile on 2003 server

hi,

im working few schools upgrading windows xp windows 7. means have bunch of new win7 , old xp on same network. profiles working great windows xp, if create new user creates profile folder , keeps everything on server. if create new user or older user logs on win7 machine creates empty .v2 folder profile. i understand that cannot share between win7 , xp there has way @ least start new profile windows 7. thoughts??

more info

this happening 40 computers in school logs on. getting windows xp username folder , windows 7 .v2 folder. good. 1 populates information such app data, desktop .. xp username folder. .v2 left empty. ill check out link thanks!

we using windows server 2003 each school has near 50 computers. , happens computer hoping there server side fix.

 thanks!

1. have split computers 2 organizational units , apply gpo them separately.

2. while creating profiles in windows xp simple process of copying 1 profile iinto default profile, in windows 7 use exclusively sysprep procedure default  profiles:

 http://support.microsoft.com/kb/973289/en-us

3. there possibility share resources, namely redirecting , ways control expiration of local profiles in gpo (not sure if in 2003, in 2008 r2).

4. more more , ideas advice give more information on target procedures. roaming profiles part of implementation.

regards

milos
