LBFO Issue on 2012 R2

hi,

i'm having issue new lbfo team on 2012 r2 on 2 servers. i've created 2 other teams on each server, reason 3rd team not work.

servers hp dl580 gen8. nics multiple hp ethernet 1gb 4-port 331t. driver version 17.0.0.3.

servers in process of being built new hyper-v failover cluster.

the 3 lbfo teams:

vm (nics vm 1 , vm 2) - going different switch (cisco, 3750 if recall) that not configured teaming (as far know), team configured switch independent dynamic. appears working fine.

hv_csv (nics hv_csv 1 , hv_csv 2) - connected cisco x. switch configured etherchannel. team configured lacp dynamic. appears working fine.

hv_lm (nics hv_lm 1 , hv_lm 2) - connected different physical cisco switches, part of same stack (i think) hv_csv switch. switch configured etherchannel. team configured lacp dynamic. not working. 1 adapter shows under teaming, other showing faulted due lacp negotiation. can't ping other server same config on ip address assigned nic (same issue in other direction), suggesting it's not working

things i've tried (in addition our network team checking switch config):

- disabling 'working' team member, disabling , re-enabling faulted team member - faulted team member starts work. enabling working team member - team member shows faulted due lacp negotiation

- switching cables csv 1 , csv 2 lm 1 , lm 2 - csv team continues work, lm continues have same issue 1 team member not working. test seems point on server rather issue switch config

- deleting csv team , having lm team (and vm) - same issue

to me, seems it's pointing issue on lm 1 and/or lm 2 adapters don't know be. have few things try today (trying of the other available network adapters, swapping out network cables switch crossover cable , changing switch independent) i'm out of ideas after that.

has seen similar issue before or have suggestions else check please?

hi hindy,

i have seen similar issue caused nic. , solved updating driver.

contact hp or manufacturer of nic latest driver.

also ask them if there bug or known issue of configuration.

WMI Repository 4GB limit - Win 2003 Ent Question

Change home folder default permission?

i have searched on , can't seem find similar trying do. using windows server 2003 active directory. when create new user account on domain, use profile tab specify home directory user. when user logs in first time, active directory creates folder in specified path. working correctly. problem gives user full control on folder. has caused lot of problems because "clever" users have discovered thay can change permission on folder or subfolders beneath it. because don't want staff looking @ "sensitive" files. of course doesn't work since can take ownership of file , give myself permissions. causes trouble failed backups, inability scan these folders viruses, migration new storage etc. on occasion 1 of these users call me , ask file or folder restored, , @ point discover not have backup of files , cannot restore them. give them lecture, have on 2500 users, , can't talk them all. right have create account , login teh folder created, go take away full contr...
