Problems with Load Balanced 2012 R2 RD Gateways and UDP Transport

this may bit of long 1 please bear me here.

we have issue 2012 r2 rd gateway services , udp transport, when using rd gateway services load balanced windows network load balancing.

before go on, rd gateways configured correctly. udp port 3391 public facing tcp port 443. our lines not cause concern , can wholeheartedly issues describe not bandwidth related. believe genuine problem. rd caps , raps fine , correctly configured , nlb configured in single affinity mode. load balancers vip publishing point through our firewalls out internet.

granted, windows nlb not best choice here, cannot justify cost of hardware load balancer our environment @ present.

on specifics…

when connecting single, standalone 2012 r2 rd gateway server rdp 8.1 compliant client device, 1 http channel , 2 udp side channels established. 1 udp channel reliable udp transport , 1 best effort udp transport. can see in rd gateway manager under monitoring, 3 connections active , performance of actual session beautiful.

now introduce windows nlb mix. session affinity important here, both udp channels need reside on same rd gateway, discounts use of technologies such dns round robin, cannot make guarantees these udp channels end on same gateway.

with above configuration, seeing odd behaviour. when connecting remote desktop session, see in rd gateway manager under monitoring, http control channel established, 1 of udp channels either a) not active (i.e, idle time continues climb throughout duration of active session) or b) not present. whilst in both of these states, performance of rdp session (we’re talking session responsiveness / quality, not connection time) poor, on fast links have. interestingly, inactive udp channel can disconnected within rd gateway manager, session continuing on, albeit still in continuing low performance state.

now if disconnect rdp session , reconnect few times, on fifth attempt, quality, responsive session. coupled this, can see in rd gateway manger both udp channels active corresponding http channel. of taking place form windows 8.1 client hasten add.

please note not connection time issue. have seen people post couple of similar cases in various forums, told things disable auto detection of rd gateway use connection. not our issue here. performance related , connection time rapid (about 3 – 4 seconds typically).

WMI Repository 4GB limit - Win 2003 Ent Question

Event ID 1302 (error 1307) DFS replication service encountered an error while writing to the debug log file

hello. we @ step 0 of migration frs dfsr sysvol replication on windows 2008r2 dc. every time run powershell dfsrmig / getmigrationstate says: "unable create dfsr migration log file. error 1307. all domain controllers have migrated global state 'start'. migration has reached consistent state on domain controllers. succeeded." it creates event id 1302 in "dfs replication" event log, explaining error 1307 means: "this security id may not assigned ownder of object ". i already checked space limits, quotas, permissions on c:\windows\debug according microsoft support article unable fix it. although, there new entries added dfsr00095.txt log file despite error. dfsrxxxx file has not been archived .gz format, and, beleive, contains dfsr diagnostics , events. here of latest entries: 20150908 08:47:27.867 11616 sysm  3354 migration::sysvolmigration::getsysvolreadyflag [mig] sysvol ready 20150908 08:47:27.867 11616 sysm   456 migrati
