Problem with interitance on Windows server 2008.

i have user has nested directories , i'm having problems getting permissions inherit properly.

it's in home directory has has share permission set 'full control' user.

then actual directory, root of home, has special permissions on it. not 'full control', , no permissions allow them take ownership or edit permissions. else open. (this user shutout system, administrator, , backup accounts entire home directory on last server).

the inheritance seems go 1 directory deep , have tried icacls enable inheritance , says did inheritance ends @ directory. other users have 1 level deep inheritance issue don't complain because of directories, far, not nested deep. if try extend inheritance, box click 'for files , folder below level' grayed out , not selectable. in advanced security, shows 'this folder only'. i've tried 'icacls "directory name" /reset /t' , doesn't appear anything.

what missing? there way prohibit user screwing folder/file permissions? being anal , problem. (i think numb-nuts locked himself out of being able change files on old server, of improvement)

i've read examples of home directory security setup , people seem use lot of different schemes.

i go in suppose , give explicit security directories isn't inheritance supposed allow for?

if aren't on edge, you're taking space...

hi,

if go home direcotry, open security tab , click advanced, click edit permission, select edit specific user's permission (i assume set permissions per user. if not choose group including user), give proper permissions , choose "this folder, subfolders , files" , apply. finish settings. there error occurs when clicking ok?

if not, whether permissions user (or group) applied subfolders , files?
