Shared Drives Intermittently Dropping

hello,

i have issue of clients (win7 , winxp) accessing shared drives. have brand new windows 2012 r2 server acting dc, file server, dns, , dchp. users reporting cannot access shared drive while using computer (not idle). connection re-establish restart or re-mapping drives. mapped drives manually connected via command line persistent enabled (no login script or gpo). also, whenever lost connection share drives cannot access internet.

after surfing internet, found similar issues , applied changes still having issue.

current configuration on server:

- no external dns configured on dc

- clients registered on dns

- dns interface set ip addresses

- dynamic updates set secure

- dns properties - security tab - authenticated users present create child objects

- no secondary dns server

- clients not have external dns

- nic power management set not turn off device

- applied command on machines "net server /autodisconnect -1"

during initial setup, set static ip of server proper ip , added external dns (4.2.2.2). article came across after doing lot of research says if add external dns(during initial setup), have similar issues shared drives dropping.

i believe issue dns cannot figure out needs change resolve issue. on article read, installed secondary dns server , resolves issue. want set secondary dns server using 1 of server (on same network , ip) little knowledge setting secondary server having issue.

please help!!

thanks.
