Add Trusted Sites with Internet Explorer Enhanced Security Configuration via GPO
greetings!
i know how add trusted sites internet explorer via gpo. i've read gpo below preferred method. however, bug exists sites added through group policy not added trusted sites list intended users ie enhanced security configuration enabled.
computer configuration\policies\administrative templates\windows components\internet explorer\internet control panel\security page\site zone assignment list
the url below says issue fixed in windows server 2003 sp2, appears affecting windows server 2008 r2 sp1.
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/918915
internet explorer maintenance deprecated in ie 10 , no longer option. testing confirms group policy preferences registry item can added following foo.com site added.
hkey_current_user\software\microsoft\windows\currentversion\internet settings\zonemap\escdomains\foo.com
value: *
value type: reg_dword
value data: 2
base: decimal
is method without disabling ie esc? is there hotfix resolve issue mentioned above windows server 2008 r2 sp1? disabling ability users add trusted sites not required, preferred.
thanks,

hi,

before going further, searched around , didn't find information confirm issue troubles server 2008 r2. here, can run command gpresult/h gpreport.html with admin privileges check how policy settings applied. besides, can temporarily turn off ie esc on server see if policy setting can apply successfully.
regarding how turn off ie esc, following article can referred reference.
