if logon same workstation user has same mapped drives (not admin) drive maps fine no errors.
yesterday, had user log onto xp sp3 workstation. drive mapped ok.
so the issue had logon on machine. wipe out profile , start over. messing around workstation when opened windows explorer window. put "\\troubledserver" in address bar , got username/pw window. odd default user name defaulted in field not "domain\user" instead "oldserver\user". @ point changed domain\user , had user enter password, clicked remember password , hit ok. pulled server. restarted machine , guess what? mapped drive there!
so somewhere along line user had entered credentials in server? seems overwritten @ logon?
