Weekly Task Only Runs Once

i have task set run every monday executes batch file. when create task run fine on first monday not run on following monday. increment it's next run date though. though task didn't run set run on next monday again.

the task history shows first run ok not show following scheduled day. there nothing in event viewer indicate occured, of failed, @ task's scheduled time; apart first time when works.

if open task , save it, re-enter user password, task run again on following monday.

any ideas or troubleshooting problem appreciated.

hi,

what operating system?

how configure task?

as understand scheduled weekly task run on first week though next run date incremented. however, task can re-run again if re-enter password.

in opinion, seems scheduled task related existing user session , specified password. task doesn’t run next time if won’t enter password regards user account user session. task won’t run.

if right, resolve problem, propose following suggestions:

1.     how configure security options task? check if select right user , if select run when user logged on. please select run whether user logged on or not see how works.

2.     try creating following new registry subkey:

hkey_local_machine\software\microsoft\schedulingagent\disableuseoftokenfromsession

set value of disableuseoftokenfromsession registry entry to 1. subkey lets disable correlation between following 2 items:

  • the task scheduler security context, security principal specified password
  • the security context related existing user session, security principal specified smart card , pin

best regards

dale
