iSCSI shared virtual disk

hey,

i had on synology iscsi lun created.  now connect iscsi lun windows server 2012r2. create on connection vhdx virtual harddisk.

when try ad vhdx file vm shared disk become error storage not right shared virtual disk.

well, there several ways work this. make strong argument of them. i'm sure there other ways haven't thought about. i'm trying is, i'm give possible solution, not solution.

i'm assuming you're going use synology store , cannot present smb 3.0 shares.

here's do:

  1. on synology, create 512 mb lun , data lun of whatever size. can make multiple data luns if want; tend split vms across @ least 2 can move things around if goes awry or isn't want.
  2. connect existing host luns don't configure them.
  3. create single-node cluster.
  4. format 512 mb lun ntfs, no drive letter, , leave cluster disk.
  5. format other lun(s) wish. ntfs preferred refs acceptable. convert them csv.
  6. set , configure guest vms wish, placing them on csv(s).
  7. once new host arrives, add existing cluster.
  8. run quorum wizard. should automatically detect 512 mb lun , use disk witness.

WMI Repository 4GB limit - Win 2003 Ent Question

Event ID 1302 (error 1307) DFS replication service encountered an error while writing to the debug log file

hello. we @ step 0 of migration frs dfsr sysvol replication on windows 2008r2 dc. every time run powershell dfsrmig / getmigrationstate says: "unable create dfsr migration log file. error 1307. all domain controllers have migrated global state 'start'. migration has reached consistent state on domain controllers. succeeded." it creates event id 1302 in "dfs replication" event log, explaining error 1307 means: "this security id may not assigned ownder of object ". i already checked space limits, quotas, permissions on c:\windows\debug according microsoft support article unable fix it. although, there new entries added dfsr00095.txt log file despite error. dfsrxxxx file has not been archived .gz format, and, beleive, contains dfsr diagnostics , events. here of latest entries: 20150908 08:47:27.867 11616 sysm  3354 migration::sysvolmigration::getsysvolreadyflag [mig] sysvol ready 20150908 08:47:27.867 11616 sysm   456 migrati
