PST files and network shares 2008r2

hi

we have in excess of 400 pst files on network shares on spec'd 100 user 2008 r2 server. despite known issues pst files on network shares server has run without issue 7 or 8 months until recently, when classical symptoms of pst issue started manifest - server hangs , pst file corruptions. in process of implementing exchange 2010 server and have removed of "live" pst files user's desktops time being , users encouraged backup psts time time. remaining psts archives , therefore read , not accessed anywhere near frequently. however, issues still occur and all "live" pst files have been moved off server.

should remove remaining pst files , if why, read only?

event logs errors non-existent, logging options should enable track down issue further?

are there registry tweeks server perform better?

any appreciated.

thanks dave

ok

that solution not practical @ moment - we've transferred all the user's current (writeable) pst files desktop time being , left archives on file server. in absense of helpful responses we rebuilt file server weekend , initial user responses encouraging. seems old server had issues may have been caused - changed number of registry items in attempt tune our way out of problems experiencing or server crashed many times developed fault - although i've lost count of amount of times chkdsk'd drives. we need server behave can concentrate on getting new exchange server online resolve issues. perhaps should @ exchange archiving or third party product resolve archve pst issues.

thanks again
