AD will be migrated from win2k server to win2008 server. Removing old client machines and replacing with new client machines with same naming convention.

we migrating windows 2k server windows 2008.  getting new client machines.  use specific naming convention our clients.  once migrate ad win2k server windows 2008 server, eliminating old client computers.  join new client computers network.  new client computers need have same computer names old clients.  predict there problem when try join new computer same name old computer network.  imagine i'll error says name exists in ad.  best steps follow able join these new client computers same names new win2008 domain server using migrated ad.  once migrated, delete computers ad , dns prior joining new clients?  suggestions appreciated.

you can delete old computer accounts ad before join new computer – or unjoin old computer domain.  it won’t delete computer account ad can act “pre-created” computer accounts.  but need think user profiles migration.  how going maintain user profile on new workstation? might able use usmt

WMI Repository 4GB limit - Win 2003 Ent Question

Event ID 1302 (error 1307) DFS replication service encountered an error while writing to the debug log file

hello. we @ step 0 of migration frs dfsr sysvol replication on windows 2008r2 dc. every time run powershell dfsrmig / getmigrationstate says: "unable create dfsr migration log file. error 1307. all domain controllers have migrated global state 'start'. migration has reached consistent state on domain controllers. succeeded." it creates event id 1302 in "dfs replication" event log, explaining error 1307 means: "this security id may not assigned ownder of object ". i already checked space limits, quotas, permissions on c:\windows\debug according microsoft support article unable fix it. although, there new entries added dfsr00095.txt log file despite error. dfsrxxxx file has not been archived .gz format, and, beleive, contains dfsr diagnostics , events. here of latest entries: 20150908 08:47:27.867 11616 sysm  3354 migration::sysvolmigration::getsysvolreadyflag [mig] sysvol ready 20150908 08:47:27.867 11616 sysm   456 migrati
