Multiple Java instances on my servers, is there a way to figure out which application is using which java ?

i'm in beginning phases of java remediation.  step 1, identifying numerous java instances living on servers, , applications use each.  it's pretty straight forward on of these, can tell process monitor or name of directories it's installed.  but there couple, give no hints, , make worse they're not installed or running process.  there's directory structure c:\...\...\java\bin or whatever.  anyone have clues on how find info?  it script, tool, anything.  when 'binging' no hits on directory structure, human has done manually.  thanks looking, bobj.

...anyone
