upgrade of server 2003 sp1 to rc2 on a domain controller

hi

we move server 2003 sp1 rc 2 followed update sp2. came across doesnt make sense on here http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/912309. 2/3 s of way down says:

"warning take standard failure recovery precautions before try upgrade windows. example, recommend server before try upgrade it. recommend have 1 or more additional domain controllers online , remove active directory domain controller before try upgrade operating system."

it doesnt make sense other stuff weve found says ok.

help.

norman

it suggests have backup of server avoid issues in case of failure. reason recommends having additional domain controllers if have 1 domain controller , if have failure there issues authenticating domain while server down.

if there still doubts please specify exact part not make sense.
