What is Reserve Lookup Zone for?

as beginner, know reserve lookup zone for? know services conversion ip addresses computer names, don't understand why should 1 need service that? if know ip address can access computer (according authorizations) can access desktop remotely. why need dns store me , compare ip address specific computer name?

sorry bad english.

if have ip , want verify host using ip, reverse mapping helpful.  in cases (to increase security) applications may require reverse lookup record (ptr) exists prior allowing host access resource ensure information being presented appliance/software valid.  there alot of examples.  1 comes mind if interested in documenting network using ip tools, may scan ips on network, reporting purposes, may want display hostname of device using ip.

a reverse lookup zone not required in network deployments, serve many purposes.  since ddns (dynamic dns), "up-keep" of zones has dramatically reduced amount of administrative work required.
