Can we provide normal users to edit the environmental variables of machine

hi,

in our team, many developers need edit system environmental varibles. , perform task need administrative rights. don't want give them complete admin rights on machines.

can alow normal domain users change system environmental varibles of machines? can setting through gpo. so, can modify variables with out getting administrative previliges on machine.

thanks help

i wouldn't think so, because changing system environment variable gives way manipulate system in such manner user can take on system. reason require administrator credentials modify.

even if via gpo, still mean give developers way take on own machines. said, they're developers. without still take on own systems.

now, e.g deploy scheduled task on machines, executes local admin credentials. task reads simple text file contentss of envirnment variable, , saves it. users can edit textfile , trigger scheduled task.

some construction that, or variation thereof work. still, still think it's idea developers have admin access on own machine if regularly need perform tasks requrie admin access.
