Printer GPO Applying, Not working on Windows 7 Clients

i'm @ wits end on this.

we on server 2003 domain, , majority of our clients windows 7.  not give local admin rights our end users, gets them.

this has caused issues adding network printers.  have of our printers between our 2 sites on servers particular site.  because installing printer drivers requires local admin rights have first log in myself install printer, log in user add printer profile.

i created gpo disables point , print restriction under both computer , user policies, though know windows 7 ignores user policy.  i've enabled setting allowing non-admins install print drivers.  included guids printers.

my end users getting policy have verified gpresult, yet when go install network printer pretend it's going it, , halfway 3/4 of way errors out "cannot connect printer, access denied".

i've tried granting , authenticated users permission driver folder on print server, , have made sure have access printers.  nothing has worked.

we did introduce a  2008 r2 backup domain controller few weeks ago , boss assures me did indeed update ad schema.  created central repository on our 2003 server has of admx templates on it.

the print server 2003 box, not sure if matters.  can edit local group policy on machine , disable point , print , end user can install printer fine.

i have done group policy results wizard on machine , verified there no other gpo overriding setting.

any suggestions?

hi,

please try gpmc.log , gpresult.log make sure policy applied successfully.

if issue persist, i'd use rsat on windows 7 deploy policy setting test:

remote server administration tools windows 7 service pack 1 (sp1)
