Cannot get character translation to work
howdy!
i set nfs server on w2k8 box. authentication and username mapping work fine. accessing shares aix works fine.
however simple thing fails: cannot specify character translation file.
i took such file w2k3 sfu nfs server and put on w2k8 box. nfsadmin server config confirms it's right file , path. access full control everyone.
when start nfs server process throws event 1057 following message:
server nfs not read character translation file <\dosdevices\c:\data\chartrans.txt>. server nfs cannot translate characters in file names. character translation server nfs not work because server not read character translation file "\dosdevices\c:\data\chartrans.txt". please ensure file exists , path specified correctly.
i can change location other drive or network location, can change content of file from double byte single byte translation: same problem.
without character translation there no chance deploy machine central file server.
please help.
