access denied error (0x80070005) when create a VM on a SMB share
i have 3 servers.
server - windows 2012 data center hyper-v role
server b - hyper-v 2012 server
server c - windows 2012 data center smb server
all servers in same domain. both server , b configured cifs delegation server c. using server a's hyper-v management console manage server b's hyper-v service. smb share created on server c full access permision both server a, b , user domain admin.
here problem have. when try create vm on server b via server a's console , specify storage on smb share on server c, following error.
[window title]
new virtual machine wizard
[main instruction]
server encountered error while creating t2.
[content]
operation failed.
failed create external configuration store @ '\\server-c\hypervshare\t2': general access denied error. (0x80070005)
[expanded information]
operation failed.
user 'domain\admin' failed create external configuration store @ '\\server-c\hypervshare\t2': general access denied error. (0x80070005)
any advice appreciated.
you doing double hop in case, running a constrained delegation issue.
you being denied because between console on server , server b you. server b server c attempting you, but server b can't impersonate you.
