Opening File with Remote App only works with UNC path name

hello,

i have been searching everywhere answer problem.

my company wants set remote apps on our computers.  we have win xp , 7 machines , servers problem windows 2008.

remoteapp opens fine on machines , can open file within file > open command.  the issue when try open file on users desktop or on our network drives work if open it using the full unc path name.  all other cases give error "the program not found assistance please contact administrator."

i assume has redirecting drives life of me cannot find error.  fyi trying microsoft word 2010 of right now.  these current settings other people have mentioned

1. .rdp file has drivestoredirect:s:* , redirectdrives:i:1

2. registry hkey_classes_root\microsoft.word.2010\shell\open\command is

"mstsc.exe" /remotefile:"%1" "c:\program files (x86)\remotepackages\winword (1).rdp"  which correct rdp file.

3. group policy remote desktop session host\device , resource redirection: not allow drive redirection disabled.  (also tried not configured)

4. , when creating msi selected associate client extensions remoteapp.

any info help.  i , running if can't past issue going to have to scrap remoteapp , try else.

thanks,

andrew

hi andrew,

i bit confused, can elaborate on exact repro steps cases work vs. cases don't work? mean "will work if open using full unc path name"? double-clicking document's icon in explorer, or typing in path name file > open dialog in explorer, or typing in path name file > open dialog in word remoteapp? if double-clicking on icon, how "specifying unc path name"?
