previous instructions old guy has since gone school masters:
start --> programs --> windows rms --> rms admin.
start --> programs --> windows rms --> rms admin.
the problem "licensor certificate" had expired. don't know this, took 2 mouse clicks fix it.
from main rms page (click above link). clicked on bottom left link (administer, etc). there, rather obvious red message told me expired, , offered "renew" button. hit it, told "automatic/online" , 2 seconds later (should be) fixed.
then
1. logon given computer
2. browse c:\documents , settings
3. you're going see several folders, titled after people's names. each folder contains following folder must removed or renamed.
3.5: don't 'default users', 'network service' or 'all users' folders. can skip administrator folders; don't anything. provided brian agrees, can skip folders named people don't work there anymore, or never want use rms. brian, on computer need worry own profile.
4. go c:\documents , settings\<someone>\local settings\application data\microsoft
5. find folder called drm. rename or delete it.
6. go step 4 , repeat every folder in c:\documents , settings
