Fail - Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1 SP1 Security Update for Windows Vista and Windows Server 2008
this update has failed repeatedly. i've followed kb articles procedures remove , re-install versions of .net [1.1 , 3.5 sp1] still fails.

a security issue has been identified allow attacker tamper digitally signed content without being detected, when content being consumed application makes use of microsoft .net framework on windows-based system. can protect computer installing update microsoft. after install item, may have restart computer.

please perform clean boot , manually download update , install again. let’s see whether work. please follow steps below perform clean boot. clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.
1. click start, type msconfig in start search box, , press enter. if prompted administrator password or confirmation, type password, or click continue.
2. on general tab, click selective startup.
3. under selective startup, click clear load startup items check box.
4. click services tab, click select hide microsoft services check box, , click disable all.
5. click ok.
6. when prompted, click restart.
7. after computer starts, manually download , install update following website.
please also disable anti-virus software in case of failures.
after have finished troubleshooting, follow these steps reset computer start usual:
a. click start , type msconfig.exe in the start search box, , press enter.
if prompted administrator password or confirmation, type password, or click continue.
b. on general tab, click normal startup option, , click ok.
c. when prompted restart computer, click restart.
