RD Gateway session time limits

hi. there way end duplicate sessions (and duplicates long inactivity time) on rd gateway server? in cap, can specify time limits, none of these terminate sessions.

what happens rdgw lists multiple connections given user specific server, while 1 of them has long inactivity time - 2, 10, 20 days, indefinitely) , other 1 active.

i'd rid of redundant unused connections automatically (without manual intervention).

why single user multiple connections single server when he/she connecting single ip? shouldn't old session reused instead of creating new one? in case: originating ip same, target computer name same , username same too.

note: we're speaking strictly rdgw sessions, not sessions on target rdsh servers.

hi,

you can require version 7 client selecting allow connections remote desktop services clients support rd gateway messaging on messaging tab of rdg server properties.  downside users receive error message if attempt connect older client, , error message not clear true cause.  not sure how non-microsoft clients react.

keep in mind user shown in rdg manager user authenticated gateway with, not same user logged on rdsh server with.  example, have 2 rdg sessions, both showing usera connected servera.  on servera logged on userx , usery in separate sessions.  may not occurring in environment, wanted aware of possibility.

if had guess intermittent connectivity problems cause of duplicates.  may able solve enabling tcp keepalives on rdg detect when session gone.  have not tested this.

of course bug in rdg.  if this serious issue recommend open case microsoft support.  if turns out bug waive charges.
