Brand new windows 2012 domain, server manager unable to remotely manager other member servers.

i created new 2012 vm, installed adds, dns, gave account domain admin , enterprise admin rights.  then created 2 more vms generated sids, joined domain, added them server manager on dc , unable remotely admin of member servers.

server manager says - online - data retrieval failures occured.

if right click on member server "add roles , features" , "restart server" options greyed out.  why these options greyed out?

the remote powershell option not work , gives me following error: "the winrm client recieved  http server error status 500 remote service did not include other information cause fo failure."

i turned windows firewall off on 3 servers rule out.  i @ complete loss on why functionality not working.  windows remote management enabled on 3 servers.

i solved issue.

i built 2 more 2012r2 servers in production.  these servers winrm worked out of box.   realized in test lab have proxy server internet access.

i had run command netsh winhttp set proxy xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:xxxx force windows update use proxy server download updates.  i think breaking winrm , why 500 errors.

kind of bummer can't set proxy , have winrm function @ same time...

WMI Repository 4GB limit - Win 2003 Ent Question

Change home folder default permission?

i have searched on , can't seem find similar trying do. using windows server 2003 active directory. when create new user account on domain, use profile tab specify home directory user. when user logs in first time, active directory creates folder in specified path. working correctly. problem gives user full control on folder. has caused lot of problems because "clever" users have discovered thay can change permission on folder or subfolders beneath it. because don't want staff looking @ "sensitive" files. of course doesn't work since can take ownership of file , give myself permissions. causes trouble failed backups, inability scan these folders viruses, migration new storage etc. on occasion 1 of these users call me , ask file or folder restored, , @ point discover not have backup of files , cannot restore them. give them lecture, have on 2500 users, , can't talk them all. right have create account , login teh folder created, go take away full contr
