difference when creating a new virtual machine from virtual machine or vhd

the title says !!

just add it, if have vm , store vhd library server , clone vm same library server.( lets delete same vm host). difference when creating new virtual machine using same vm or same vhd, original vm , running in both cases ?

a vhd nothing. when create vm existing vhd, must specify settings vm. can change number of processors, ram, etc.

if create vm existing vm, what's different vm vhd plus settings define virtual machine.
