Support for Advanced Format hard disks - 4Kn and 512e


hi all,

can point me in direction of microsoft documentation explicitly states windows server 2016 supports advanced format hard disks? - ie either 4k native or 512e.

here list of documentation can find on subject, indicates server 2012 r2 , server 2016 don't support 512e or 4kn!

the reason ask, have problem skype business 2015 , 4kn drives.  pss quoting above articles me , saying windows server 2016 doesn't support 512e or 4kn hard disks , therefore won't offer support or refund support fees.

clearly it's complete crap microsoft don't support 512e or 4kn on server 2012r2 , 2016, there nothing can find states that.  after there documents stating sql server , exchange 2016 support 4kn disks, quite hard if server 2012r2 , 2016 don't!

any appreciated!

did run following command on system?

fsutil fsinfo ntfsinfo x: (where x: represents drive checking)

if report shows "bytes per physical sector" , "bytes per sector" value of 4096, says os recognizing native 4k drives.

if fact microsoft's own utility reporting correctly not enough proof, ask support people provide documentation showing when removed os.  microsoft not remove in single release.  first url reference explicitly states supported in 2012.  if microsoft going remove it, deprecate in 2012 r2 or later.  means still there, discourage use because removing in future (deprecation documented).  when removed, , again document it.

additionally, if scroll bottom of first url, see article applies 2012 r2 , 2016.  don't know more asking for.
