How to connect to the SUSDB to clean it up for KB2720211

good day,

before begin need explain 1 thing not sql guy know little it.  being said here problem , hope can me through this.

i have sce 2010 setup has wsus on it.  running on windows 2008r2 sp1  have found artical how prep database before installing update.  after lot of talking able find wsus can lauch , go can run the clean wizard. (have not done yet want clean database first)  problem connecting database.  using internal database , after looking around found database called susdb susdb_log too.

when go sql management studio (it says sql server 2008) click on compact , type in following path

c:\program files\microsoft sql server\mssql10.essentials\mssql\data\susdb

this path shows when @ databaswe from explorer database.  database there in data folder

when try connect following error

cannot connect c:\program files\microsoft sql server\mssql10.essentials\mssql\data\susdb

additional information

the database file cannot found, check path database [data source = c:\program files\microsoft sql server\mssql10.essentials\mssql\data\susdb]

(sql server compact ado.net data provider)

i not sure if i have right password right can't connect database try.

so need in typing in path database.  need put in quotes? missing in path?

any or insight would appreciated

hi,

if using windows internal database wsus database, need use sqlcmd utility. more information sqlcmd utility, see sqlcmd utility.

to use script windows internal database, should run following command:

sqlcmd -s np:\\.\pipe\mssql$microsoft##ssee\sql\query -i <scriptlocation>\wsusdbmaintenance.sql

reindex wsus database:http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd939795(v=ws.10)

WMI Repository 4GB limit - Win 2003 Ent Question

Change home folder default permission?

i have searched on , can't seem find similar trying do. using windows server 2003 active directory. when create new user account on domain, use profile tab specify home directory user. when user logs in first time, active directory creates folder in specified path. working correctly. problem gives user full control on folder. has caused lot of problems because "clever" users have discovered thay can change permission on folder or subfolders beneath it. because don't want staff looking @ "sensitive" files. of course doesn't work since can take ownership of file , give myself permissions. causes trouble failed backups, inability scan these folders viruses, migration new storage etc. on occasion 1 of these users call me , ask file or folder restored, , @ point discover not have backup of files , cannot restore them. give them lecture, have on 2500 users, , can't talk them all. right have create account , login teh folder created, go take away full contr...
