Using custom environment variables in the profile path

hi,

i've created custom environment variable i've setup on 2 computers , domain controllers.  want use in profile path in user properties.  when users log in variable taken literally rather being converted value.  example

\\fileserver\share\user\%myenv%.v2 generated rather \\fileserver\share\user\envdata.v2

if add in built-in variable such %os%, converts time use custom variable windows doesn't use during logon process.  if open explorer , type in path data should works fine windows picking variable, not using during logon process.  can't seem find technet article states custom variables can't used in profile paths.

has else come across this?

thanks,

tim

a corrupt local policy cache preventing gpo sets custom variable on file server.  cache cleared.  problem solved.
