"Postpone" option grayed out for all users when custom deadline is reached
hi,
i have gpo deployed in our ad applying updates using wsus (on version 3.0 sp2). in gpo, under computer configuration --> administrative templates --> windows update have following settings:
configure automatic updates
specify intranet microsoft update service location
no auto-restart logged on users scheduled automatic updates installations
automatic updates detection frequency
allow automatic updates immediate installation
delay restart scheduled installations
re-prompt restart scheduled installations
allow non-administrators receive update notifications
allow signed content intranet microsoft update service location
when approve updates in wsus , set custom deadline install, updates downloaded machines correctly. problem i'm running "postpone" button grayed out once custom deadline i've set reached updates installed. proper behavior? need set deadline on updates insure installed, still end users have ability postpone restart of machines if necessary when deadline reached.
can tell me if possible? or situation once deadline reached updates installed, postponing installation no longer option because deadline has been reached?
thanks,
mike
what seeing see well... in case though, way want work...and i'd working way ms intends work.
if set custom deadline, you're saying, update needs installed date...period. therefore, in order make deadline met, enforce deadline set.
i don't think can have fuzzy deadline... update not applied until reboot happens, if want enforce deadline, ms must enforce reboot.
if want people able postpone updates, dont' set deadline on them.
mike n.
