Quick file server rundown


hey guys,

i'm working file server , i'm network guy. need quick rundown of how exclusive , read/only access works file.

when file opened hidden file created ~ character in front of it. lock file stops access else? how applications know open read-only file?

i did searching , can't find real rundown explains mutual , exclusive access folders. information session , open file sessions great too.

i need fast possible!

hi,

it seems talking office related files. said, office create temp file editing instead of using original file. when temp file exists, second access read-only. encounter issue temp file not deleted automatically affect following modify.
