AD Upgrade - Certificate Authority Server Dependancies


hi guys

we in process upgrade our win 2003 domain win 2008 r2 forestfuncational level. have certificate authority server running on top of win 2003 sp2 - 32 bit domain memeber server.  server not change, but domain controller names changed( domain name not changed ).

we have exchange 2007 in place , have used ca issue certificate , aslo have thirdparty certificate( owa ) in place.  since domain controler name changed, have change thing in ca server ( reissue certificate exchange , have reinsall third party reissued certificate excahnge servers).

ca used exchange server only. there thing have ca server or can use exsiting ca server new win 2008 r2 domain.

it sounds you're not planning on touching (migrating) your certificate authority.
planning active directory migration, you'll migrating windows server 2003-based domain controllers windows server 2008 r2-based domain controllers , accompanying functional levels.

you not need change on certificate authority.
certificate authority continue operate through active directory migration.

it sounds there information misinterpreted.
hostnames domain controllers may changed since windows server 2003.
hostnames certificate authorities may not changed.

if, @ moment in future, wish migrate certificate authority windows server 2003 windows server 2008 or windows server 2008 r2, may follow information in the active directory certificate services migration guide.
