Can I deploy updates without setting to "Auto download and schedule the install"?

hi. question came purpose of patching our servers apply our desktop fleet well.

wsus deployment options limited in can choose 5 options know. not huge issue in until realise if choose option auto install can select day of week, every week. want able deploy patches monthly , aren't fond of idea of leaving deploy weekly in between deployments.

my question is: happens if set "allow local admin choose setting" set deadline on approved updates. either updates won't install because local admin won't have chosen setting (nearly users not admins) or deploy because of deadline?

this objective not achieved trying schedule installation, rather managing approvals. if want updates install on 3rd saturday of month then: configure updates install on saturday @ desired time, , approve updates after 2nd saturday @ least 24 hours before 3rd saturday.

if want guarantee updates not try re-install on 4th saturday, remove approvals after 3rd saturday.

my question is: happens if set "allow local admin choose setting" set deadline on approved updates.

the updates installed @ scheduled deadline (or before if user causes happen), , 'admin' won't have choice in matter.

so yes, can cause updates installed @ specified date/time defining deadline, need understand not guarantee installation occur. if reason client fails detect or download of approved update(s) prior deadline, updates won't installed @ specified deadline - will installed machine downloads update (after deadline has passed), in middle of day!

ergo, deadlines updates servers not recommended course of action.
