Image interpolation

hi,

when screen resolution changed in xp (in particular when using remote desktop), display downscaled using particular technique , if technique used?

also when using remote desktop settings @ correct resolutions on both machines, there other factors affect final image (gui) display remote desktop applications?

something have noticed happens when remote on work machine settings such resolution , colour quality set same on both machines, 2 images (one compressed , 1 uncompressed) appear identical naked eye when viewed locally, have distinctly visible artefacts differ between 2 when viewed remotely.  main question why happens?

thank you

declan,

as far know, there never public statement made ts/rds/rdv team indicating compression techniques using specific media (such raster graphics) , bulk compressor. newer protocol versions apply planar compression bitmaps, 4 planars being represented rgb , alpha channel. in addition that i know codec algorithms different when looking @ rdp 5.x, 6.x , 7. thing can change algorithm mode to "less network bandwidth", "balanced" or "less memory" through group policy (applies windows server 2008 ts , later).
