Windows Server 2012 Essentials hangs at splash screen on install or boot if I install more than 3GB of ram

i having odd issue cannot seem resolve.

i have following setup:

asus p5m2/sas motherboard

core2 quad q6600 processor.

8gb of matching ddr2 ram (4x2gb)

initially system had 2 gb of ram (1x2gb) ordered 8gb ram reach recommended requirements windows server 2012 essentials. while waiting new ram arrive, installed ws2012e on machine 2gb of ram installed. installed without hitch slow due having 2gb of ram.

when new ram arrived system not boot after installing new ram. stop @ teal windows splash screen logo , indicator spin forever. tried various configurations , found system boot if had 1 stick installed, or if mix , matched new sticks 1 of old sticks 3gb. however, if installed 2x2gb sticks or more system hang @ splash screen.

i able boot 4 of new sticks long had 1 installed.

thinking might sort of ram incompatibility, purchased more ram @ premium listed on motherboards approved memory compatibility list.

i tried reinstall windows server 2012 essentials, found same behavior installer. installer stops @ teal windows logo splash screen if have more 3gb installed.

as trial ran memtest86 overnight 4 sticks installed no errors.

as trial installed windows 7 on system 4 sticks installed. installed , system sees 8gb of memory.

as follow test plan install windows 8 tonight if no other solution found see if experiences same issue essentials. assume since have similar boot loader.

so seems windows server 2012 essentials boot loader, although can't imagine be.

all of hardware checks out fine, install older versions of windows, , install , boot windows server 2012 essentials long have less 4gb of memory installed.

i run 2012 essentials on machine cannot seem find solution. have invested bit of money between windows server 2012 essentials, plus 16gb of ram have purchased trying make work.

it crazy me behaves differently if amount of ram changed.

any ideas?

i think on right lines, testing windows 8.

i have not seen issue this, install essentials machine in hyper v.

let know how goes after win8 test.

WMI Repository 4GB limit - Win 2003 Ent Question

Event ID 1302 (error 1307) DFS replication service encountered an error while writing to the debug log file

hello. we @ step 0 of migration frs dfsr sysvol replication on windows 2008r2 dc. every time run powershell dfsrmig / getmigrationstate says: "unable create dfsr migration log file. error 1307. all domain controllers have migrated global state 'start'. migration has reached consistent state on domain controllers. succeeded." it creates event id 1302 in "dfs replication" event log, explaining error 1307 means: "this security id may not assigned ownder of object ". i already checked space limits, quotas, permissions on c:\windows\debug according microsoft support article unable fix it. although, there new entries added dfsr00095.txt log file despite error. dfsrxxxx file has not been archived .gz format, and, beleive, contains dfsr diagnostics , events. here of latest entries: 20150908 08:47:27.867 11616 sysm  3354 migration::sysvolmigration::getsysvolreadyflag [mig] sysvol ready 20150908 08:47:27.867 11616 sysm   456 migrati
