Guide for building winpe-dcd to install WIndows 2008 serve with unattend.xml

hello,

during w2k3 build winpe cd install w2k3 server.

-boot winpe

-create partition primary , format drive c:

-copy w2k3 install sources drive c:

-create unattend.txt 

-winnt32 -> run unattended setup using unattend.txt

 

now windows server 2008 , winpe 2.1 released.

 

how can same when installing windows server 2008 ?

we have walkthrough this. please read following article in detail,

 

walkthrough: deploy image using windows setup:

please note, windows server 2008 boot process same windows vista. assume use network share deploy install image. however, if want use install.wim installation media, can change following steps bit according requirement.

 

i list brief steps here reference (note step 3 little different):

step 1: copy windows product dvd source files network share.

 

step 2: create master installation.

 

step 3: capture image of installation.

 

1.       boot master computer using bootable windows pe media.

 

2.       at command prompt, capture image of installation. can use imagex command-line utility this

 

imagex /compress <type> /capture c:\image_directory d:\imaging\data.wim "new_image_file"

 

for more details, please refer "windows preinstallation environment (windows pe) user's guide" document included in windows aik.

    

3.       replace default install.wim on network share custom image. image must called install.wim.

 

step 4: create custom answer file.

 

step 5: deploy image using windows setup.

WMI Repository 4GB limit - Win 2003 Ent Question

Change home folder default permission?

i have searched on , can't seem find similar trying do. using windows server 2003 active directory. when create new user account on domain, use profile tab specify home directory user. when user logs in first time, active directory creates folder in specified path. working correctly. problem gives user full control on folder. has caused lot of problems because "clever" users have discovered thay can change permission on folder or subfolders beneath it. because don't want staff looking @ "sensitive" files. of course doesn't work since can take ownership of file , give myself permissions. causes trouble failed backups, inability scan these folders viruses, migration new storage etc. on occasion 1 of these users call me , ask file or folder restored, , @ point discover not have backup of files , cannot restore them. give them lecture, have on 2500 users, , can't talk them all. right have create account , login teh folder created, go take away full contr...
