additional netwok connection

on nodes if use 'ipconfig /all' can see 1 additional network interface 'microsoft failover cluster virtual adapter'. has apipa assiged number.

what for? can nic? ip should have... generaly - how used?

ah, not cluster.  see, new network driver (netft.sys) fault-tolerant tcp/ip driver means under covers consturcts , maintains own internal routing table uses ensure has connectivity cluster nodes via multiple interfaces, hence reason tell have minimum of 2 nics in cluster.  and, can place cluster nodes on different subnets , allow traffic routed, need have method ensuring have redundant paths nodes.

also, virtual adapter 'hidden' device.  so, treat other 'hidden' devices show on ipconfig /all output.

thanks.
