Adding a DFS Namespace on Windows 2012 produces an error


i have small lab environment 2012 ad server , 2 2012 clients testing dfsr before placing production.

i can't seem namespace created.

regardless if host try create on, following error:

\\domain\shared: namespace server \\hostname\shared cannot added.  the user name or password incorrect.

the wizard not ask username or password.

i logged in domain\administrator account.

the share created.  i have given , domain\administrator  full control.

i stumped , looking direction.

hi,

when creating dfs namespace \\domain\sharea, create folder under c:\dfsroots named "sharea" (by default). please check if have permission create folder dfsroots , subfolder under dfsroots.

, if issue still exists, check permission of dfsr folder under system volume information folder. hidden folder , may need take ownership in order access it.
