Upgrading Server 03 DHCP to 08

hope i'm in correct place. upgrading our dcs 03 08. have single 03 dc dhcp site. run 2008 r2 dhcp migration process pulls on 03 server including new lease times.

its understanding during process (which have no idea how long takes) clients not able obtain leases should need to. there way can run dhcp server, file server have, until 1 upgraded 08? there other areas on site point ip of dhcp server, thinking somehow bring on another, give same ip dc once i disable network card on it, and perhaps no 1 have down time...not sure how make dhcp server though , if cause conflicts.

thoughts? recommendations? can me out. thanks

hi,

this not effect current lease.

the machine has got ip not get affected. trying new ip have wait 10 minutes.

personaly have not used dhcp migration tool in 2008. love command prompt , batch files , vb script. checked petri site using export , import command.

 

finally suggest give try.

WMI Repository 4GB limit - Win 2003 Ent Question

Event ID 1302 (error 1307) DFS replication service encountered an error while writing to the debug log file

hello. we @ step 0 of migration frs dfsr sysvol replication on windows 2008r2 dc. every time run powershell dfsrmig / getmigrationstate says: "unable create dfsr migration log file. error 1307. all domain controllers have migrated global state 'start'. migration has reached consistent state on domain controllers. succeeded." it creates event id 1302 in "dfs replication" event log, explaining error 1307 means: "this security id may not assigned ownder of object ". i already checked space limits, quotas, permissions on c:\windows\debug according microsoft support article unable fix it. although, there new entries added dfsr00095.txt log file despite error. dfsrxxxx file has not been archived .gz format, and, beleive, contains dfsr diagnostics , events. here of latest entries: 20150908 08:47:27.867 11616 sysm  3354 migration::sysvolmigration::getsysvolreadyflag [mig] sysvol ready 20150908 08:47:27.867 11616 sysm   456 migrati
