Doubts on file server being migrated.
i'm new in company and already have a critical mission to executed.
at company we have only one dc in single site with the file server role mapping it with \\ nameserver\shared folders, this machine is a microsoft windows server 2008 r2 standard , asked to create a replica of an ad on another machine that be with all the main roles up so good, and my doubts with respect the file server to migrate to server and asked do a file server cluster, more noticed here that there no local disk storage only in case there to the right?
i thank respond.
hi leornardo,
if planning move info across same domain there shouldn't problem. ensure target folder not allowed inheritance or new acl entries configured, exsiting remain.
if plannig move domain / forest situation more complicated. can use tool setacl (free), allow copy entire acl structure fileserver , replace in target fileserver easily.
regards.
