Hyper-V and virtual NW adaptor ?

when install hyper-v win2008r2, virtual nw adaptor created , physical nw adapter's tcp/ip v4,v6 setting unchecked.

is common way configure , use virtual nw adaptor , not use physical nw adaptor ,when use hyper-v ?

hi!

yes, when create external virtual switch, physical network card used uplink physical lan. should not enable tcp/ip or in other way make use of card, in use hyper-v.

if network adapter available, can check box in hyper-v virtual network manager allow adapter used host operating system well. hyper-v create virtual network adapter, connect external virtual network , present hyper-v host.

the official best-practice recommendation not to, install second network adapter instead, dedicating physical adapters host os management , vm traffic.
