Can group accounts be created when using an HSPD12 compliant authentication method?

as windows system administrator haven't had luck finding documentation answers question listed in title.

scenario:  8 users use hspd12 compliant authentication via pki certificates , of them share 1 workstation.  workstation tied position title.  possible create "group" account position title , have users tied title while maintaining hspd12 compliance?

as far know, certificate can not issued group.

the users will still be hspd12 compliant group account won't.
