Can we Join another domain controller to the Primary Domain Controller for testing purpose?

actually scenario have 1 main dc running inside organization want test though dc because can not touch pdc testing purposes want make new domain controller , want join or associate pdc

so question new dc effect live environment or pdc if test something? , please tell me if wrong please tell me solution problem want test application can not tested in live environment need domain controller testing purpose not affect pdc in case.

not if new domain controller added production environment, no (or @ least not without causing severe breakage of environment).

if working off virtualised infrastructure, can use backup software statefully existing domain controller, restore segregated environment such can't communicate production @ (i.e. private virtual network). physical resource separation work. requires more physical resources , comparatively speaking, fair amount of additional time configure.

if it's solely exercise in ldap testing, @ active directory lightweight directory services can configured replicate information active directory yet can used in isolated fashion, meaning changes made have no bearing on production active directory whatsoever.

WMI Repository 4GB limit - Win 2003 Ent Question

Event ID 1302 (error 1307) DFS replication service encountered an error while writing to the debug log file

hello. we @ step 0 of migration frs dfsr sysvol replication on windows 2008r2 dc. every time run powershell dfsrmig / getmigrationstate says: "unable create dfsr migration log file. error 1307. all domain controllers have migrated global state 'start'. migration has reached consistent state on domain controllers. succeeded." it creates event id 1302 in "dfs replication" event log, explaining error 1307 means: "this security id may not assigned ownder of object ". i already checked space limits, quotas, permissions on c:\windows\debug according microsoft support article unable fix it. although, there new entries added dfsr00095.txt log file despite error. dfsrxxxx file has not been archived .gz format, and, beleive, contains dfsr diagnostics , events. here of latest entries: 20150908 08:47:27.867 11616 sysm  3354 migration::sysvolmigration::getsysvolreadyflag [mig] sysvol ready 20150908 08:47:27.867 11616 sysm   456 migrati
