this driving me nuts! able stream audio , music 2012 r2 essentials server via browser anywhere in world, not video. have downloaded , installed media pack (obviously), configured shared folder (videos) streaming, , access rights of folder. when go stream *wmv file, opens video player browser , closes it. i'm able download video @ point (windows has converted asf file @ point via iis). i've reproduced on android, on home w7 laptop in ie 11 , firefox, , @ work on w7 laptop. im able open file , stream media player directly lan @ home, not issue. said, audio streaming works fine, not video. 1 other note, video folder in media library , able see video files in media library, , none of them protected. this message andy qi, please not mark answered do. not need know how configure streaming, not tell me how , mark answered. fixed on own. don't try , rip dvd wmv disk , expect stream on demand, mp4 works. strange, since wmv microsoft format, , aac/mp4 apple format (sarcasm)

i have 7 node hyper-v cluster (server 2012 r2) , 133 vm's deployd there. i'm using 1 lun csv size 10tb, , 8tb of used vm's. have not had problems with lun performance. i'm monitoring sc operations manager. somehow i've missed recommended make many lun's better performance. read blogs, can give me recommendations what's best way? as in cluster, have @ least 2 of everything.  configure cluster 2 different luns configured csv.  if 1 lun lost reason, still have other operational.  then try have each csv owned different node in cluster.  having each csv owned different node in cluster, metadata io spread multiple owning nodes instead of concentrated on single node.  low volume, spread io.  and, lessens redirected io if there connection problem storage.  rare occurrence. it not make noticeable difference in performance.  vnx going performing of io optimization, , each node hyper-v host doing direct io own vms.  keeping vm io utilization balanced im

we have windows 2008 ad domain running @ windows 2008 functional level.  1 domain controller running windows server 2008 r2 enterprise , other running windows server 2008 (32-bit).  last several months, i've noticed members of group can not been idetified.  example, group "developers" added local system group of "event log readers" on windows server 2008 r2 system.  members of "developers" group not access event logs.  however, when removed group , added individual members directly, had access.  when switch "developers" , removed individual members, access denied once again event logs.  have had same issue few security devices , work around has been added individual members instead of ad group. i'm open ideas on how resolve or narrow down causing strange issue.  thank you! paul Windows Server  > 

so running network has dc, ex, sus, , ptr. issue files people put on share drive have set on server (dc). people can open files other people save in folder once changes made seem have read-only permissions. example: person creates folder in share drive. nothing special. person b can @ it, open it, edit can not save it. turns read-only. if person b copies same folder location. roles reversed. seems person b became creator, , person (the originator) out of luck. can happen anything. file multiple people have access seems access able last person 'saves as'. this getting tiresome. believe there gpo/security setting somewhere on server make created files accessible unless go in there restrict it. please if can help, not know how of weight off shoulders.   if not clear please let me know try elaborate. hi, it seems permission setting related issue. what's current permission settings on folder? you can test create new folder @ same place, - full control permi

i have new dell latitude e4310 windows 7 32-bit installed. browsing online , checking e-mail works fine. however, want rdp windows 2000 server terminal services, connection drops after variable amount of time of staying connected. connection may last few seconds several minutes , screen freezes several seconds, after error message stating "your remote desktop session has ended," appears. problem not occur on lenovo thinkpad t400 running windows 7 32-bit.   steps have tried: 1) allowed rdp through firewall. 2) disabled firewall. 3) done "clean boot" startup items , 3rd party services disabled. 4) used wireless lan or wired ethernet. 5) installed latest drivers both wlan , lan. 6) updated windows 7 (client) , windows 2000 (server) 7) reformatted , done clean install of windows 7 network drivers. i not computer guru nor person set network. if knows how solve, work-around, or diagnose problem, i'd eternally grateful. hi sy5488, have

i have been trying upgrade our windows server 2012 installation running hyper-v, have problem physical nic. issue upon finalising upgrade, winser2012r2 presents bsod (irql_not_less_or_equal) , hardware device cannot remove prior upgrade nic assume giving me grief. i have tried remove nic driver, hyper-v depends on (all vpcs depend on logical switch). how can remove physical nic? option reconfigure vpcs have no nic , delete logical switches? lot of work reconfigure , error prone well. i have checked log files boot, reason, winser2012r2 not create log entries or memory dumps me at. have above mentioned bsod hint. suggestions? what mean vpcs: hyper-v depends on (all vpcs depend on logical switch) ? if mean virtual machines, it's expected behavior because virtual switch used them. you need disconnect virtual machines virtual switch remove it. go vms settings , change network nic mapping not connected regards, samir farhat infrastructure , virtualization consulta

we had strange issue today, cant explain. maybe of point me possible cause. application failing because multiple file share unavailable. first let me explain setup.  we have corporate forest, exists out of 4 domains. these domains contain various servers. every production site, has own production forest, separated corporate lan firewall. yesterday 2 biztalk server lost connections share on server within production site. means both server a1 , a2 in corporate, no longer connect shares in various production sites @ same time while writing file. in our troubleshooting tried access share via command-line failed. tried access share third server,which worked. target share available a3, not a1 , a2. other shares on other servers within same production network available server a1 , a2, yet other shares on target not available a1 , a2. while a3 can access shares. we checked eventvwr on a1 , 2, not find smoking gun. rebooted a1 , a2, still no success. rebooted target server in 1
